What You'll Do

new+airbnb+LOGO_clear.png

Your experience will take place in a beautiful courtyard tucked away in one of the most iconic 7th Ward homes formerly owned by a very prominent African-American Creole family.

You’ll get settled into this uniquely New Orleans’ atmosphere with a delicious bowl of local gumbo (or red beans & rice for vegetarian groups) to savor during the show. Then, Ben E. Hunter will take you along a musical storytelling journey and exploration of New Orleans’ folklore through his all original music. Each song stitches together a rich tapestry of the unique experiences and perspectives of an artist living in the New Orleans of yesterday and today.

Through these soul-stirring songs, and the stories shared throughout, you’ll journey through time and space, touching upon many aspects of the city’s cultural richness, and the deeply varied impacts that Ben and many others like him have experienced in their lives as New Orleanians. From growing up in the historic Treme, to living through the days of Katrina, and then witnessing the remarkable evolution of the city beyond the storm, Ben’s songs and stories impart a first-hand account that will take you deep into the heart of real-life New Orleans.
